Would it be possible to list the home Multiheadlines feeds in your rss file? Not sure how legal it is actually. I know having rss feeds you need to show a logo and link to their site.

If it is possible, this is what im trying to do, prob wont get to far but i think its a nice idea and if somene could help me that would be really nice Smile

I have noticed google does almost a daily search on my backend.php file. I would like my rss feed to look like this:

link to all Site News Topics
1. 5 most recent News/stories:

link to all Multiheadlines Categories
2. 5 most recent Multiheadlines home news

link to Mysite.com

oh just got an idea... what if we ad a logo to 2. above.

sorry if im confusing.
Can anyone help me? Ima have a go at it tonight lol we know how that ends up. Sad

One more question. where does it get $time? If anyone knows. Ive noticed my time is different than when I post a new story.

Thanks,

j

Hi j.

Since the feeds are cached locally on your database you can do what you want with them, even you can build up a backend with them. The original php-nuke backend.php file, pulls out from database only the articles from your site[it works with _stories table] but it's obvious that you can pull there anything you have from your database to build up as you want.
I don't understand when you say "I dont store my headlines news in a database", so practically you use only the MH center block? I suppose so.
About the logo and the link.
In fact many sites have a policy about their content[regarding the feeds too]. Many of them invite you to use their feeds on you site, other doesn't allow to take anything from them[including the feeds] without their written permission and many say nothing about this. You can though build your backend.php leaving the link towards their sites, I guess, but you must check their conditions first.

I dont't know about what $time you are talking[$time used in MH or used in phpnuke in genera] but the most common cause is that there is a difference between the server time[the server might be hosted on a different country] and your PC time[from your home/office].

Oh I didnt really know how it works. I mean I dont collect feeds, or have the collecte feeds checked in the MH Config. I use just the module, um if thats center block. :shrugs:

MH center block is that block for my home page at the bottom with 3 columns containing feeds[only the title+link] from: PHPDeveloper.org, Nukescripts, Ravenphpscripts, which is called "PHP-Nuke News". That is the block.

The MH module or addon can be seened when you click on "Browse all categories" and further more every category can be browsed,......showing the feeds content[title, link to the full article and a summary[description] of the article, if there is one].

If "Colect feeds" option from your MH admin panel is not checked doesn't mean that the feeds aren't collected anymore, it mean that after a period of time or after a certain number of feed gathered[this is set on General settings] the feeds from your database will be removed.

If this option is checked the collected feeds woun't be removed from database, ever, so after days or weeks[depending of feed sources] you'll get loads of feeds in your database.
