Hi,

Awesome Module you have, just hope i can get it working. Relatively new to nuke but have been successful with quite a few modules to date.

Installed yours and tried to create a category to add an rss feed under but it never seemed to work

I followed install your instructions but on number 3, referring to the sql file I was a little lost.

What do I do with the sql file?
I am not sure what I do here…this part may have caused my category problem.

This is an excellent module and I am sure other novices like myself who may be struggling with this part.

Thanks

Hello there.

As many other nuke add-ons you have to create some tables in your database in order to get working the module.

So in phpMyAdmin [or any other db manager] on your nuke site database click to SQL link [up, the second link, in the menu] and in the newly window paste the content of multiheadlines.sql [already copied before with/in Notepad].

After hit the "Go" button [the first "Go" buton Very Happy] and you are set , you just created the necesarry tables.

Then you can create a category [first] and after you may add RSS urls in that category. Once a url is added, click to the "Refresh" link in that big table in the RSS/URL Management section. That's all. Now you must let the module to grab the feeds from various sources[rss urls].

After you can play with "Display settings", "Statistics", "Block Managent" or other option/feature.

Thank you for the prompt reply...

I went to phpmyadmin and in the "database window" (on the left below sql button) i see the following:

(databases) -- default in the window and the next 2 below when i hit the drop down button.
_nuke(9Cool
_nuke1_(313)

I hit the sql button without changing this from "database" and pasted the txt from the file "multiheadlines.sql" in the new window [Run sql Query} and hit go. The it appeared to sucessfully create a table.

But then i went to make a catagory in admin module it didnt create on as before.

Any suggestions?

phpnuke7.8

Thanks

I see you have two databases.

Maybe you created the tables in the wrong database.

You must chose the database that you are using for your nuke site (Left panel-->dropbox-->select database used for nukesite=database name written in config.php file from your site root)

Only after do the things i said earlier.

Excellent,

That clarified my problem. I found the correct database where you said to look..i.e "config".

Just struggling with Multiheadlines Block Configuration now lol but hopefully with some troubleshooting it will come.

I just want to have 3 colums of 5 rows for headlines from 3 different site like your below. Seems I cant delete and start again as i created too many rows initally...

Thanks for the great support. Very much appreciated.

I Have the multiheadline center block working fine...Great work and much thanks for making this available.

I would like to have a marquee and form scross block as well. I cant seem to figure out how to set these up. I dont see any block.php files assiciated with these.

What does adding rss feeds and titles to the "RSS/RDF URL Management" do? I added a few but cant seem to activate them I think it must be associated with the marquee and forum scrool???

Thanks
